Recent Successes

Cricket Campus Rail Jam Tour
After making stops at college campuses around the Western United States, the Campus Rail Jam Tour visited the Square for the final competition! During the finals, professional and amateur snowboarders performed impressive tricks on rails set over 55 tons of snow trucked in from Mt. Hood. Attendees of this event watched as athletes from around the country showcased their skills in Portland as they competed for their share of up to $5,000 in cash. Click here to check out the photos!

Urban Assault Ride
This funky, unique bicycle scavenger hunt recently visited the Square as one of its eight stops around the country. After completing zany obstacle courses of bike jousting, inflatable slides and big wheels all throughout the city, participants gathered at the Square for a huge after-party! This event benefited the Bicycle Transportation Alliance of Portland and participants helped reduce over 25,000 lbs of CO2 by committing to ride their bikes more often. Click here for photos.

Destination Joy Kickoff
Star Wars Storm Troopers and other Star Wars characters were at the Square to help grant the wish of one local child! A Star Wars weekend in Florida was granted to Owen Miller as a part of the Make-A-Wish program. The Make-A-Wish Foundation also kicked off the national Make-A-Wish “Destination Joy” campaign in Oregon. “Destination Joy” is the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s annual campaign to raise the funds and resources to make every child’s wish come true. Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the wishes of more than 13,000 kids are granted each year.
